The TBR Book Tag

So this week the WordPress email that got my attention most was the TBR book Tag

I saw it on @ BookishMe page and loved her selection (although only 8 on her TBR!!) After going back a few tags I found out that this originated on @ A perfection called reading

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I mainly keep track on Goodreads by using different shelves, I have a want to read list, a want to read own physical, want to read own kindle, want to read don’t own, ARCs… you get the idea! I have also just received my Little Inklings ‘A Novel Companion’ which I am so excited about using!

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

Mainly print as I have a serious addiction to buying books, especially from charity shops, I love a bargain! The main TBR’s that I have for ebooks are ARC’s from net galley.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

I always put the books that I am on blog tours for first as I want to be able to read them in good time so that I’m not rushing to finish meaning that I can give it a fair review. Next its book club and buddy reads then if I have time after all that I just pick based on what I am in the mood for. If I am really struggling I will have a look what has the highest rating on Goodreads or has been on my list longest…

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest.

…well that lead me to hear nicely. The book that goodreads says has been on my shelf the longest is ‘Like Water for Chocolate’ but I am definatley going to read it this year as it ticks off the ‘book from a year you were born’ category from one of my book challenges!

A book that you recently added to your TBR.

Long Bright River – this was suggested as a February buddy read and then I saw a couple of great reviews so added it to my list.

The Familiars and the Foundlings. I could say more but really the phot speaks for its self….

A book on your TBR that you NEVER plan on actually reading.

Wild: A Journey from lost to found. This was a book club pick in 2018 that I never got round to reading as I gave birth to my little boy. It didn’t get great reviews from the group but as the physical book is still sat on myself I don’t feel like I can take it off my TBR

I mean it talks about her toe nails falling off, who actually wants to read that?? (It doesn’t help that I have a weird phobia of feet!)

An unpublished book on your TBR that you are excited about.

The Switch by Beth O’Leary. I absolutely loved the flat share so cant wait to see what the next book has in store!

I have the eARC on netgalley but this is one I really want to enjoy and savour as a paperback! (I was really hoping that Quercus would sent me a copy to review but no luck…yet)

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read but you.

Becoming by Michelle Obama. I bought this when it came out and had every intention of reading it but then I read the first 20 pages and decided to read something fun instead…

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you.

If you want to make God Laugh by Bianca Marais. I have read hum if you don’t know the words which was fantastic so I will definitely be reading this!

The author manages to take painful subjects, make them accessible and even throws in bits of humour along the way!

A book on your TBR that you are just dying to read.

Dear Edward, I won this in a competition at the start of the month but due to so many blog tours and buddy reads I haven’t had chance to read it!

‘One summer morning, twelve-year-old Edward Adler, his beloved older brother, his parents, and 183 other passengers board a flight in Newark headed for Los Angeles. And then, tragically, the plane crashes. Edward is the sole survivor.’

I mean who doesn’t want to read this right?!
